About this section

On this section you can find a little bit about how I think and if I would fit into your company. The best way to know each other is a conversation, but I also think we can save us both time if we put our cards on the table. If you have any question regarding this section. What is important to me

πŸ§ͺ Code quality is important

I like when my code survives the test of time. Therefor I'm a great fighter for unit and integration tests. Refactoring is part of my daily work, and I like to keep the codebase clean.

πŸ’¬ Fast feedback is a must

Yearly and half-yearly feedback is nice, but not enough for me. I need feedback on a weekly basis. If you do 1:1s, I expect them to be weekly. If you do code reviews, I expect them to be done in a timely manner.

πŸ—£οΈ I care for my job

I'm convinced that if you hire someone, you also hire their opinions on certain topics. How certain things are done, how certain things are not done. Code architecture, code quality, code style, code reviews are very highly opinionated topics, and should be discussed in a proper fashion. However, I'm also convinced that tradeoffs must be made. Sometimes, the best solution is not the best solution. But I'm convinced that all cards must be on the table, and all opinions must be heard so these tradeoffs can be made properly.

πŸ’» I want to take ownership over the code

If I'm working on a project, I want to take ownership over the code I wrote. I don't think shipping the ownership to another team is a good idea. Only then there is room for improvement of the code, the product and the team.
